I started doing research for the feature/multigenre piece and I am extremely excited! I absolutely love my camp and met amazing people there, incuding “the internationals”. After class, I sent all of them messages with questions so I could get a better idea of what they thought about America. So far, I have received one back from my friend Michael in England. After reading it over, I got very emotional because I missed camp (and “the internationals) so much. I think this is a great project and can’t wait to start writing my pieces! I plan to bring the information I receive from my friends to class tomorrow. See you then!! Alexis

Feature topics…?
I am still struggling a bit with my feature topics/genre.
I like the idea of writing about my half brother that I only found out about eight years ago, but I am also interested in writing about me being a “country girl.” I am not feeling any sparks about these topics yet because I am not sure which direction to head in with either of them. Are these topics even muligenre? For either topic, I would write in a poetic form which would include diologue, but I am unsure.
Suggestions? Ideas? Both are welcome

Feature?
So I have been thinking about what to write my feature article about, but need help specifying it. I will write some background information and hopefully you guys can help me from there. Thanks in advance!
I work at a summer camp when I come home from college. I went there as a camper and have been working there for about six years. Every year, five international students come to live and work at the camp for the summer. While they are here, they get an opportunity to travel and see America. This has caused one of the “internationals” (that’s what we call them) to obtain a visa, and he will be spending a minimum of six months here, and hopes to eventually get his green card.
For the article, I wanted to focus on this group of “internationals”. Maybe discuss why they came here, differences they see, and other things. I would also focus on one of the “internationals” decisions to live here yearlong. Is this specific enough?
Thanks!!
Alexis
