FABULOUS

I saw the Bombitty of Errors today with my date, Jackie, and it was incredible.  Everything was put together perfectly.  I was excited after hearing from classmates about Friday’s performance, but was a little worried that it was going to be censored.  It definitely was not! Our seats were in the second row, which was great (Thank you Dr. Stearns!). We could see EVERYTHING!! I enjoyed how current the play was made.  The references to Eliot Spitzer and “Low” were hilarious.

I think that this is a great experience for high school students.  They would definitly be engaged, and there is also interaction between the performers and the audience.  I recommend this to EVERYONE!

The Bombitty of Errors was amazing!!  I was hysterical laughing the entire time and I am so happy I went.  I hope you all got the chance to go see it!

My host teacher was telling me that she and some of her co-workers took several classes to go see the show one afternoon.  The students loved it so much, that they went home and bragged about it to their parents.  However, when some parents went to see the show, they were insulted and displeased that the school they send their children to, allowed them to see such an event.  Many parents complained.  While my teacher was telling me this story, she emphasized that to an extent, she did not think it appropriate for some of the students, BUT the district kept pushing teachers to see the play and allow their students to be more “culteralized.”

So I have a question: What do we do when placed in a situation such as this?  The district continues to ask you do take your students to a show, but then the parents have an issue with it.  Do we write a letter home explaining the content of the show?   What do you guys think?

Bombitty!

Wow! That’s all I have to say about this show. Autumn and I took our boyfriends, the only incentive being the food before the play. When we got there, however, they were unsatisfied with the appetizer-like arrangement (they were expecting something like a huge buffet). After the show, they were SO happy to have gone, and now knew that the quality play BY FAR outweighed the food.

I was expecting the show to be good, but not as WONDERFUL as it actually was. I honestly did not stop laughing at the actors long enough to talk about the play to my friends. That was what the car ride home was used for.

I don’t know when the show ends, but I really do encourage everybody to go, and bring friends!

Thanks for the suggestion, Dr. Stearns!
