Yikes...such a controversial issue between where your rights are safe and where they are not. I personally do not have Facebook and only had MySpace for a few months because my roommate made it for me knowing very well I HATE THAT STUFF. I never used it, and when I remembered about it this past summer, I deleted it.
I know I am a rare case for not using these web sources; however, I know plenty of my peers use them avidly. I guess the only real answer is to keep your stuff private. I know there are ways to only disclose your information to those you allow to do so. Even then, when you're so close to the point we are at, there comes a time when you need to decide which is more important: teaching or giving one of your friends a good laugh when they see you "drunk" online.

Great sale!! Autumn, sound like you did well...a very popular title in my YA class this sem. has been Peter Cameron's SOMEDAY THIS PAIN WILL BE USEFUL TO YOU. Check out this review in the NYTimes. The S'peare title will be fun to use in your classroom.

Great book for help with literature circles is Harvey Daniels' books and website. Check it out. KES

Haha... Krystina, I saw that book and smiled. It has a plastic cover, right? I almost purchased it to give to someone one day. But, I thought.. that's not fair, I already have one. I should leave it for another RUDY fan. Hehe.

Yes! Yes! I visited twice, and for about $150, I've picked up 7-10 copies of about 10-15 different novels that I know are great. I'm going to use these next year for my Writing Studio classes so that I can do literacy circles.. or whatever it's called. I want to try small group activities next year. Have you all learned about this? If so, point me in the right direction. I just knew that if I could get these books for .25-$2.00 each that I would have my own control over my teaching. I'll be out for the book sale in the fall with a list of books that my students want. Maybe we can take a class field trip. Yippee! I'm crazy for books.
